Lagerfeld Classic behaves very different on test paper than on your skin, it develops much differently. Not for everyone but for those that can appreciate the type of fragrance that evokes class and gentlemen like qualities. but I never could get him to try Lagerfeld, Farenheit, or the classic Grey Flannel - probably my three favorite men's fragrances, and all with a similar powdery note somewhere in the mix. Don't overspray for a) it's strong and b) performance is great even from below the shirt as you get lovely whiffs throughout.

Despite that reaction of dislike I just referred to, I do not think sillage and staying power are impressive too. Eight hours went by and I still have a faint projection in the back of my hand (just 1 spray) and a marvellous skin scent.From the start, it smells like fresh orange peels, and no nothing like Terre de Hermes, and an ambery musk.

There’s a lot in this and it could take a few wearings to really appreciate its full power and beauty. At any time in winter, in the fall, maybe even in the spring, I can imagine wearing it, especially in the evenings, for elegant attire. I know that younger generations may get an impression o their dad or grandpa’s perfume as soon as they get the first sniff of this magnificent composition, but I disagree. It is classified as oriental-woody, but it usually behaves in a very particular way on different skins. Even with that, this is really great bang for the buck, and less dated than other offerings of the time.
