Canine Cystaid Capsules are an effective product designed to encourage bladder health in your pets. It is recommended that Canine Cystaid Capsules should be combined with increased water intake by switching to a wet-food diet. Cystaid can be administered whole or broken and sprinkled onto moist food. Canine Cystaid contains 500mg of glucosamine. Directions for Use: Cystaid is a nutritional feed supplement for cats to help maintain a healthy bladder and help maintain the protective glycosaminoglycan layer. The law changed in 2005 to require veterinarians to allow their clients to buy veterinary medicines from the supplier of their choice. Your vet will be familiar with this procedure, and will provide a signed prescription on request. To save your vet's time, you can print off a blank prescription which you can take to your vet to be completed. You then need to send this to us for review, before we can despatch any “prescription only” medicines (categorised as POM-V). Will my vet charge me for providing a prescription? You can make such a request, but it is only vets thatare authorised to decide which prescription-only medicines are to be used in any particular animal. If you find something which you believe would be beneficial, or cheaper than the medicine your vet has prescribed, then most vets will happily consider such a request. Please note that they will still have the final say. Obviously if your vet does not seem to be helpful about anything, you can seek a second opinion from another vet. Symptoms range between cats, but typically the following are a sign of something wrong with your cat’s waterworks: Cystaid works by providing a source of glucosamine, a major component of the protective lining on the inside of the bladder. This lining, known as the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer, plays a crucial role in preventing harmful substances in urine from causing inflammation in the bladder wall. In cats with cystitis, this GAG layer can become compromised, leading to symptoms such as frequent urination, blood in the urine, and discomfort. Each Cystaid capsule contains N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine (125mg), a key component in the formation of glycosaminoglycans. Other ingredients include L-Tryptophan, Curcuma longa/lecithin, Folic Acid, and Vitamin D, all of which contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of your cat. Instructions: Initially administer two capsules per day (one morning and one evening) for three - four weeks and then one capsule per day thereafter. Some medications are legally classed in this way to safeguard your pet's health and the general public. They may cause harm if used incorrectly. You can buy them from your veterinarian, a pharmacy, or an authorised internet outlet such as ourselves at PetHealth.Direct How do I get a prescription? The causes of cystitis or FLUTD can be quite wide-ranging, but a dry diet can have an effect in making your cat’s urine more alkali.
