About this deal

Ride the Lightning is an ambitious metal album that tries to do a little too much, and I honestly think Metallica lost their way with this one. And Justice For All and Metallica have sold over 65 million copies worldwide and have shaped an entire generation of metal fans and are still among the most iconic metal albums ever. It's my recollection that most, if not all, of the Megaforce releases I bought around then had clear inners. The album was recorded in three weeks with producer Flemming Rasmussen at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. Released in 1984, Metallica's second album, Ride the Lightning, is considered by some to be their best.

My only minor niggle is that a cd that is in a cardboard sleeve maybe could do with being sent out in sturdier packaging.

Although rooted in the thrash metal genre, the album showcased the band's musical growth and lyrical sophistication. James Hetfield made some of the greatest riffs ever for the songs on this album, and while most of them are pure aggressive genius, a few of them are bombastic. The rest of this song is pure thrash metal, and pretty much the only pure thrash metal song on this album. The set starts out with two tunes that would have been right at home on Kill 'em All, but the next two are slower and more involved. Vale lembrar ao fãs radicais que criticam a banda por "fazer som comercial" após "Black Album", que aqui no segundo disco já havia balada e que até hoje emociona nos shows da banda: "Fade to Black". Hetfield himself is also responsible for bringing down his own riffs by trying to sing like Rob Halford.

The overall recording costs were paid by Metallica's European label Music for Nations because Megaforce was unable to cover it. Garage Days Re-Revisited' is a covers EP by Metallica, released in August 1987, featuring their versions of tracks by Diamond Head, Budgie, Holocaust, Killing Joke and The Misfits. Instead of relying heavily on fast tempos as on its debut Kill 'Em All, Metallica broadened its approach by employing acoustic guitars, extended instrumentals, and more complex harmonies. Metallica’s debut album, Ride The Lightning (1984), will be pressed on 180g ‘Electric Blue’ limited edition coloured vinyl, featuring the 2016 remastered audio. I say that because it is better than Kill'em All and not the over-bloated extra long songs of Master or Justice.
